I had microsuction - what aftercare do I need?

There is no aftercare required following microsuction. Normal activities can resume immediately after treatment.

I had irrigation - what aftercare do I need?

Following gentle warm water irrigation, it is important to keep your ear canals dry to reduce the risks of infection from waterborne bacteria.

The irrigation process can slightly dry the canals and remove some of the natural oil secreted from inside the ear. The natural oils should return to normal levels after a few days, but please follow these steps:

- Use ear plugs or cotton wool with Vaseline to protect your ears while bathing or showering for the next three days.

- Avoid swimming or submerging your ears for the next seven days.

If you wear hearing aids, allow three hours before placing them back in your ears.

Why does my ear still feel blocked?

When ears are blocked with wax for some weeks or months, pressure can build up behind the blockage, causing a feeling of still having something in the ear. This sensation can last for a few days after having the wax removed, especially if warm water irrigation was used. If this feeling persists past three days, please contact us for advice.
